auto_stories Life Story
Maria Luisa Santos was born on March 15, 1945, in Tondo, Manila, to a family of humble fisherfolk. The eldest of six children, she learned early in life the value of hard work, sacrifice, and unwavering love for family.
She graduated valedictorian from the Philippine Normal University and dedicated 35 years of her life to teaching elementary students in the public school system. Generations of children passed through her classroom, and many still remember her warm smile and patient guidance.
In 1968, she married Roberto Santos, a civil engineer, and together they raised four children — Jose, Ana, Miguel, and Teresa — in their modest home in Parañaque. She was the heart of the family, the one who kept everyone together through celebrations and hardships alike.
After retirement, Maria devoted herself to her church community at San Isidro Parish, where she led the choir for 15 years and organized feeding programs for street children. She was known throughout the neighborhood as "Nanay Maria" — always ready with a plate of food, a listening ear, or a comforting embrace.
Maria passed peacefully on January 10, 2024, surrounded by her children and grandchildren. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, faith, and unconditional love that will endure for generations.

Tita Maria, you were like a second mother to me. I remember every summer at your house in Parañaque — the adobo, the stories, the love. I will carry your warmth in my heart forever. Rest well, Tita. 🕯️💐
Mrs. Santos was my Grade 3 teacher, and she changed my life. When I was struggling, she stayed after school every day to help me read. Because of her patience, I became an engineer. Thank you, Teacher Maria. You will never be forgotten.
Mama, walang salitang makapaglalarawan kung gaano ka namin kamiss. Everything I am, I owe to you. Your laughter, your cooking, your prayers — they are the soundtrack of my childhood. Until we meet again. Mahal na mahal kita. 🌸
Maria was a pillar of our parish community. For 15 years she led our choir with grace and devotion. Her faith was unwavering, and her generosity touched countless lives. May she find eternal rest in the arms of our Lord. 🙏
